Tax Calendar 2014


January 15, 2014 - Fourth installment of 2013 estimated tax payments due.

January 31, 2014 - Those who did not pay their last estimated tax payment by January 15 may choose (but are not required) to file their income tax return for 2013 by this date to prevent any penalty for late payment of the last installment.

January 31, 2014 - All businesses must issue annual information statements (forms 1099 or equivalent) for certain payments including: independent contractor compensation; dividends & interest; rents & royalties; Profit-sharing & retirement plan distributions; debt cancellation; and cash payments over $10,000.

February 18, 2014 - Individuals who claimed exemption from income tax withholding last year on the Form W-4, Employee's Withholding Allowance Certificate, must file a new Form W-4 by this date to continue their exemption for another year.

February 28, 2014 - All businesses must file information returns (for example, Forms 1099) for certain payments made during 2013. If Forms 1097, 1098, 1099, 3921, 3922, or W-2G were electronically filed, the due date for filing them with the IRS is extended to March 31. The due date for giving the recipient these forms generally remains January 31.

March 17, 2014 - CORPORATE TAX RETURNS DUE (1120 series, including 1120S).

April 15, 2014 - INDIVIDUAL AND PARTNERSHIP TAX RETURNS DUE.

June 16, 2014 - Extended individual tax return due date for U.S. citizens or residents living and working (or on military duty) abroad.

June 16, 2014 - Second installment of 2014 estimated tax payments due.

September 15, 2014 - Third installment of 2014 estimated tax payments due.

September 15, 2014 - CORPORATE TAX RETURNS ON EXTENSION FOR 2013 DUE.

October 15, 2014 - INDIVIDUAL TAX RETURNS ON 6 MONTH EXTENSION FOR 2013 DUE.
