Character Study: Contentment Saruni sees the "sparkling row" of bicycles-- "one of them was decorated all over with red and blue"-- that's the bicycle he wants. He works so hard to save his money week after week if you do the story problem in the math lesson-- it works out to 61 weeks-- that's over a year of saving coins! The bicycle he eventually receives from his dad was probably not sparkly or new. It doesn't look decorated at all.
